Porto Coffee Week is the city's specialty coffee festival. The 2026 edition runs from Monday 5 to Saturday 10 October: three days of workshops and pop-ups in cafés around Porto, followed by a three-day Coffee Market at the Mercado do Bolhão.
My Coffee Porto is taking part as a workshop venue. On the opening day, 5 October, our Santa Catarina café hosts the festival's Home Barista Workshop. This page covers the festival dates, what happens at the market, and how to book the workshop.
Porto Coffee Week 2026 dates
The festival runs in two parts. From 5 to 7 October, workshops and pop-up events take place in cafés across the city. From 8 to 10 October, the Coffee Market at the Mercado do Bolhão is open daily from 10:00 to 17:00.
According to the organisers, most sessions are in English, with some in Portuguese. Check the language on each ticket before you book.
The Coffee Market at Mercado do Bolhão
The market is the centre of the festival: roasters and coffee brands from Portugal and abroad, tastings, and competitions. This year it includes the AeroPress Portugal Championship 2026. Buy the official cup and you can taste at every stand for as long as the market is open.
Our Bolhão café is one block from the market on Rua de Fernandes Tomás and opens at 08:00. If you want breakfast before the market opens at 10:00, or a place to sit down between tastings, it is the closest My Coffee Porto.
Home Barista Workshop at My Coffee Porto Santa Catarina
On Monday 5 October at 15:00, our Santa Catarina café hosts the Home Barista Workshop, part of the Porto Coffee Week programme. The workshop is for beginners who own an espresso machine at home, or plan to buy one, and want better results from it.
Hugo Ferraz leads the session. It covers how to judge a good espresso, how to steam milk into microfoam, an introduction to latte art, and how to use and look after home espresso equipment. Sage Appliances sponsors the workshop.
Tickets cost €25 and are sold through 3cket, the festival's ticketing partner. Participants must be over 14.
Why Santa Catarina
Santa Catarina is where we roast our coffee. The Joper drum roaster sits in the café, so workshop participants can see where the beans they are brewing were roasted. The café is on Rua de Santa Catarina, Porto's main shopping street, a three-minute walk from the Mercado do Bolhão and the Bolhão metro station.
The café stays open until 20:00 every day, including during the festival.
